About Us

Built by cyclists, for cyclists

Manta started with a simple problem: we wanted a practical alternative to rain pants. Something that works on everyday rides, and is easy to keep within reach.

We’ve been cycling our whole lives. In the city, it’s simply how we prefer to move: it’s independent, efficient, and it keeps cities livable by reducing congestion and traffic.

We don’t believe in bad weather, only in bad gear. What kept bothering us wasn’t the rain itself, but the lack of a good everyday solution. Rain pants do their job, but for the kind of cycling we do they sometimes feel like overkill. Changing before and after, carrying bulky gear, dealing with damp fabric later, and honestly, never quite feeling or looking great in them. There was no solution that was both practical and something we actually wanted to use.

That frustration turned into a question we couldn’t let go of: why isn’t there something that’s genuinely easy to use every time? Something you can rely on without planning your whole outfit around the weather. So we decided to build it.

Manta wasn’t born from a single moment of inspiration. It grew out of many hours behind a sewing machine, countless prototypes, and constant testing on real rides. We built a version, rode with it, noticed what didn’t work, and went back to improve it, again and again, until it finally felt right.

Along the way, it helped that we’ve been friends since secondary school. We share a curiosity for how things work, a hands-on mindset, and a strong DIY mentality. One of us brings years of experience in product development, the other a drive to build and grow things as an entrepreneur, but we both enjoy getting our hands dirty and figuring things out by doing.

What we’re sharing now is the result of that process: a solution that started as a personal need, and became a product we’re proud to put in other cyclists’ hands.

If you ever have feedback, we want to hear it. Our goal is simple: to make something that works and feels right, for as many cyclists as possible.

Part of a bigger shift

We’re excited by what’s happening in cities worldwide: more space for bikes, safer infrastructure, and a gradual move away from car-centred design. We’ve felt the difference ourselves . When cycling is supported, more people choose it.

Our hope is simple: that Manta helps people keep cycling in changeable weather, and supports that broader shift towards calmer, healthier, more bike-friendly cities.

Made with care, tested in the rain, and built to be used.
